This still mill came to life in late 1890. During its apogee in 1974, the place welcomed more than 13,000 workers. In the last year before closure, only 600 employees were still there.

Ground-level

We begin our journey by entering through a vast and now empty hangar.

Taking altitude

After having found stairs, we decided to climb a bit in the hope of seeing something.

The lab

On the edge of the main building, there’s a tiny building hosting a laboratory. It’s not uncommon for explorers to miss it the first time they visit the mill.

Leaving

After 3 hours on-site we decided that it was time to leave, but not without enjoying the golden hour and doing some shots.

I’m quite happy with this exploration, my only regret is the quality of my photos since I wasn’t doing HDR at the time. And sadly the Forge lunaire is almost completely demolished, there’s almost nothing left to see.
