This sinter plant was part of a massive steel complex with the Forge lunaire. It was used to agglomerate iron dust with other materials at high temperatures to create a product that can be used in a blast furnace.
The fans
The fan extracts the waste gas from the sintering machine, via a series of suction boxes mounted along the length of the sinter bed. The gas passes through the dust cleaning device into the fan and is then discharged to atmosphere via a chimney stack.

The Dwight-Lloyd machine
Inside the main building, we can see a lot of conveyor belts and even a beautiful Dwight-Llyod machine.
A Dwight-Llyod machine is a sintering machine in which feed moves continuously on articulated grates pulled along by chains. The controlled combustion on these grates causes the minerals to sinter.

Bucket-wheel excavators
Bonus for the end, a yard full of Bucket-wheel excavators.
