The Day the Earth Stood Still

An unusual turbine hall, built mostly from concrete. We explored it on a cold morning in early 2022.

It was only the third power station I’d explored at the time, and I still remember the smell of the place, the mix of dust, coal, concrete and old machinery. With the boilers gone, the building felt impossibly vast, just huge empty spaces stretching above and around us.

It was one of those moment that make me fell in love with places like this. The scale, the silence, the machinery, the decay... Everything inside it fascinated me.

And look at those turbines. Damn.
