📅 February, 2022 🇫🇷 France 🟠 Demolition

Maybe the most famous french power station. The plant has been commissioned 1950 and stopped early 2015 because it didn’t met the new ecologic requirements. This place has been explored by many starting as early as few months after the closure and until late 2023 when the demolition started.

This power station goes by another famous name, because of the blue turbine vendor.

The turbine hall

Blue Rateau-Schneider

The latest addition to the plant. A quite long blue Rateau-Schneider turbine (250MW).

The original units

The original turbines, commissioned 1958 – 125MW each.

Floor level

This place was quite hard to shot down there because of the poor light condition. Most of the shots were done with manual exposure.

The crane

The crane offers a impressive view over the turbine hall.

The coal buildings

On the way out we took some time to shot the old coal buildings.

This was a really cool explore with a challenging way in. I really loved that place and I’m glad to have seen it. My only regret is that I’ve missed that pretty orange control room.

This place has been dormant for many years but as of 2023 demolition has started and the old way is no more but I’m sure other explorers will find something else.

Until next time.
