๐Ÿ“… October, 2022 ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Germany ๐ŸŸ  Demolition

This power station has been well known for ages. It used to be an easy walk with the bonus of having a fully lit boiler house and a cool control room.

Sadly the plant have been blasted all over the internet many times, especially on YouTube where so called โ€œgangstersโ€ record themselves getting in and post the video with the real name of the place.

All those events attracted more and more in-experimented people and some of them eventually been caught. This has lead to better security measures.

The plant has been acquired late 2022 by a private investor and the power has been cut-off since. Every assets there will be put on the market and the plant is to be dismantled.

The boiler house

One of the most exciting part of this power plant is the boiler house, which was still fully lit when we went. This makes for really great pictures with unique atmosphere.

Also light was kind of required inside because there is no windows or opening, making it impossible for natural light to come through.

The control room

Sadly during late summer 2022 some fuckers got inside the power plant which wasnโ€™t secure at the time and broke the computers, screens, any many more stuff in the control room.

Friends of mine went originally in June 2022 and everything was still intact during that trip. Another good example about why we should restraint ourselves from blasting such places over the internet.

The turbine

We went there very early morning at the end of a tour. Therefore the light was very bad inside the turbine hall making it harder to shot.

Also, the turbine has been tagged summer 2022 therefore the company has painted the turbine doors in white. It used to be blue.

I was supposed to be with my friends on that June 2022 trip but some personal matters made my stay at home. Iโ€™m a bit saddened that I didnโ€™t got to see the turbine and the control room in they original state but at least the boiler house was still fully lit when we went.

I think that place can teach us an important lesson: we need to be picky about what we wanna explore because there isnโ€™t enough time to see everything, especially while having a job and a family. And more importantly, we need to take care of those places. We need to keep them offline while theyโ€™re still doable. Sharing (recognisable bits) is egoism as its pure form.

Until next time.
